About Bishop Powell
Bishop Colin C. Powell, Sr. is a native of Manchester, Jamaica West Indies. He is the second of four children for Louise Coley and Colin Powell. His early years were spent with his grandparents who were devoted Christians, therefore church attendance and Sunday school were always an integral part of his life.
Bishop Powell gave his life to the Lord at the young age of sixteen and became a member of the Roxbury Church of God of Prophecy, where he served the Lord faithfully in various capacities, including Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, and Evangelism Director.
In 1983, the leadership of the church, seeing the call of God in his life, set him forth as an ordained Minister of the Gospel. In 1999, Bishop Powell was assigned to pastor the Glenway Street Church of God of Prophecy, where he currently serves as the Senior Pastor.
A Life Poured Into Ministry
He has more than two decades of teaching, preaching, and counseling, which has enabled him to reach many lives with love, humor, warmth, transparency, and strength.
His ministry is dedicated to building God's Kingdom one family at a time.
In August 1999, Pastor Colin C. Powell, Sr. was appointed to lead the Dorchester church. During his leadership, the church relocated to 1000 Harvard Street, and once again, the Lord gave increase. Through much prayer and fasting, Pastor Powell and the saints sought the Lord for a permanent place to worship. In February 2001, the Lord blessed us with the present location at 179 Glenway Street.

Family: The Heart of His Ministry
Bishop Powell is blessed to be married to and share the ministry with his lovely wife Jenefer Powell for over 40 years.
Together they are the proud parents of three children: Colin Jr., Kristen, and Zachary, and grandparents to eight amazing grandchildren.
Family is not simply a backdrop to Bishop Powell's pastoral calling — it is its very foundation. His unwavering commitment to building God's Kingdom one family at a time begins at home, modeled daily in the love, faith, and devotion he and First Lady Jenefer share.

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary — 2018. A graduate-level credential in Urban Ministry Leadership, deepening his theological and organizational capacity for kingdom building.
